Six years ago, we started going to the New York Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ Festival, where for four hours you could taste all the beer, bourbon, bacon, and barbecue that your poor little livers and stomachs could handle (for us, a LOT). After four re-donk-ulous years of attending the event (usually culminating in drunken K-town karoake and falling asleep in inappropriate places) we felt the tickets got too expensive, the selection too tired, and the crowd too much.
Last year we kicked off our first annual BYOBBBBQ, where friends could come over and bring a bottle or two of a bourbon we hadn't tried, chow down on some meats and bacon, and wash it down with some nice beers. This past weekend was the second – nothing smells like happiness more than pork and bacon with a bourbon undertone.
